System requierments for putting VHS onto DVDs

Hopefully in right forum.

My friend wants to put VHS to DVD.

wants to spend 700-900 Canadien for a complete system.Monitor included.
recomended
ram-256/512
cpu - Amd,Duron,p4,celeron
Video-o/b,video card

He's not a bigger gamer,so I don't know excatly what he can get by with.

Any input would be helpful.

acutually there is video forum . just from my experience spend the $$ on the fastest chip you can.

the work is gonna be in converting to mpeg2 so make sure you have plenty of (and fast) Ram and a good proc.

the video card won't be that important, just something basic to render the video (ie. no-where near bleeding edge)
