System reboot, but only once per session. Help

Hi, almost always I simply find solutions to my problems by reading but I haven't seen anyone with similar troubles on this one.

Recently my computer started doing this... when I turn it on cold, it boots up and acts normal for about 2-15 minutes and then, suddenly and without warning, it shuts off and restarts... as if I hit the reset button. However, once it does this once, it will not do it again no matter how long the computer is on. I can leave it on for 3 weeks and not have a problem, but if I shut it down for a night, I'll have to go through this ritual once when I turn it back on.

It seems to me that it is a problem that has to deal with the computer "warming" up or something. I've never had a problem like this. If anyone knows whats going on I would appreciate some advise. If you don't necessarily have a solution but at least have a good idea of what hardware might possibly be the source of the trouble I would greatly appreciate that as well.

Once the troubles started I reformatted and it will still do it even if windows xp is the only software on the computer. But only when it's cold.

If I turn the computer on for 5-7 minutes and then restart the computer via the start menu/shut down, then the computer will restart like normal and I won't have any of the unwanted reboots... but it is still a pain to have to go through this ritual everytime.

If you need me to post my specs I can but I didn't want to go into all that if I could just possibly get an idea of what piece of hardware you all might think this could be linked to. Thank you in advance for the replies that I know I will get.

Sicnerely,
A very annoyed Mike

PS It worked fine for about a year before this suddenly started happening and I haven't added any new hardware since I built it over a year ago.

Specs:

ABIT KX7-333 Mainboard
AMD Athlon XP 2200+
WD UDMA ATA66 80GB HD
Leadtek Nvidia GeForce4 Ti 4400
Creative SB Live
Enermax 420W Power Supply
I forget brand name on RAM... Kingston? King something or other... 2x 256MB pc100 ddr (I THINK, it's been a while since I built it... I know its 512mb of ddr, not sure on pc100)

I just now read a post that was written last night about faulty power supply's causing issues like this during the warm up period for a cold computer which sounds an awful like my situation...

Have a spontaneous reboot or cold boot problem?

I can't imagine too many problems that would ONLY occur when turning the computer on for the first time that day and never again as long as the computer is left on. Anyway, I'll keep checking in. Thanks again.

Mike
