I'm just sitting there and the computer will turn off. No BSOD, just shuts down. I have to unplug the PSU for 10 seconds, replug it in, and turn the system back on. Is this a power supply issue?

what are your system specs, including psu?

what temp is the cpu when it shuts down? what applications are you running at that time, if any?

Temperature or PSU problem most likely. I would tend to lead to temp however, because most PSU problems I have seen cause restarts or freeze ups.

cant say too much without knowing your computer specs tho. But if your literally just sitting there and doing anything, i'd suspect the psu.

the way you describe the problem, it sounds like its likely not the power supply. is your computer o/ced are your drivers up to date? I've had problems like this with abit motherboards in the past with aggressive memory timings the computer would cause a memory dump and the computer automatically restarts. There are many more causes to this problem that could be the motherboard rather than the power supply...but the easiest way to check is to borrow your friends ps or something

I have just replaced my power supply with an Antec Truepower 380. No more random shutdowns. Sorry for not supplying the specs earlier (1900XP, Soyo Dragon, GF3Ti200, 2 HDs, DVD, CDR). The power supply in question was an Antec Smart power 300. Thanks for helping me determine that the problem was the power supply.
