I am looking at a CPU and motherboard which both support 1333 but I can only find DDR2 memory that is 1066. (CPU & Motherboard & Memory)

Is there such a thing as DDR2 1333 Memory? Do I even need it or is 1066 fine?

I don't think there is DDR2-1333 and you don't need it. DDR2-800 or DDR2-1066 is fine.

Edit:
That ram is expensive... Honestly, I'd go with DDR2-800. These are way cheaper and would do just fine

If you need any help on selecting parts or would like some feedback on your build, the General Hardware subforum would be a great place to go. To me, the E8400 is quite pricey for an LGA775 cpu. You could probably get a comparable AMD quad core + mobo for about the same price as that E8400 + P45 mobo. I'm not too sure since I'm not familiar with prices in Canada, but I'm sure someone else could help out with that.

That motherboard supporting 1333 just means it can handle ram overclocked at that speed. There is DDR2 PC 9600 thats been bin tested to run at 1200 that can be overclocked to 1333 or better. For what its worth, I am running the same combo with just DDR2 8500.

For the E8400 which has a 333FSB (1333/4), DDR2 667 will match the FSB 1:1. if you're overclocking it, DDR2 800 is enough for 1:1 up to 400FSB, after that DDR2 1066 is enough. You won't need more than that.

You can get the faster RAM if you want but know that it will only run at 800 unless you OC the system.
