yes, i already have a case and wont get a new one until i run out of hard drive space in it...i know that fans are loud and dont care...thanks for the other suggestions, but i want something faster than 3200 for ram and for the video card, that will depend on how much money i have when im ready to buy one (will buy ram first) so i could be getting the X800 XL anyway

ShadowBlade, you really need to do some more research before you plan on buying this stuff, no offense. Your selections are horrible for the money you are spending. An SLI PSU for a non PCI-e non SLI machine??? A good Nforce 3 motherboard is only about $10 cheaper than a good Nforce 4 motherboard. And spend more on the core components.

If you are buying the computer at different time intervals, I suggest getting the parts that don't change often first (Case, PSU, Optical Drive). Then get the core components. Say you are getting a $300 CPU and a $100 case. And you have to buy them three months apart. Get the case first, as it will still be around $100 in three months. Get the CPU last, because in three months, the price of a CPU will have dropped drastically.

^i already have a case and optical drives.....psu i dont, but i am revising my power supply choice...i am still buying my mobo and cpu first because i currently have a dell 2400 with a 2.4GHz celeron

My suggestion:

Swap the motherboard for a Chaintech VNF4 (non-Ultra)
Swap the video card for a 6600 GT
Swap the Antec 430w for a Fortron Bluestorm 400w (ATX 2.0, sleeved cables, quieter 120mm fan)

The price difference will be neglible but the gaming performance will be noticeably better, as well as you will have the latest platform which will allow you to upgrade to any new PCI express video cards that may come out in the future.

also, which video card manufacturer do you prefer for that chipset and interface

i will be ordering a motherboard and cpu tomorrow....the cpu is decided final on the a64 3000+, mobo i may go pci-e (chaintec mentioned above) or the one i listed on my orig. post

my current psu (am probably not ordering new tomorrow due to budget issues) only has a 20-pin connector, this mobo appears to require a 24-pin connector (by count). do you think its necissary that i order a cheap psu with a 24-pin mobo connection? if not, how do i position a 20-pin connector in the 24-pin thing (great technical term) on the mobo?
