Is this a BIOS password you are having trouble with, or the Windows password?

If it's a BIOS password, you will need to call Dell support and verify with them that you are the registered owner of the system. Then they will help you unlock it.

If it's the Windows password, log in as the administrator (if you know the password) and reset the password for the account that is not working. Or if you are running Windows 8 or Windows 10 and using an online account, go to www.live.com and click the "can't access your account?" link and follow the instructions to reset the password.

Nothing suspicious about the Dec 2015 registered 1 post user asking how to circumvent a BIOS password.

Did you get it from the pawn shop or do the B&E yourself. :p

Seems to me that if you got it from a co-worker then you should be able to ask them for the password.

Then it's time for a refund.. There are dozens of those on ebay, but you should get something better anyway.

Then have your coworker call Dell and verify with them that he is the registered owner of the machine so they can unlock it. Either that or give it back to him (or toss it) since it's just a glorified paperweight with a BIOS password lock.

thanks you all for your help, I did get in. And for those who like to judge people take a look at yourself first. The computer was not stolen or any thing like that just trying to help a co-worker. Have a good day.
