System on ram?

Anyone know if there is any way to put windows on your ram? I've heard of doing this, but I wouldn't have a clue how.

ramdisk?? ram that has a drive name kinda. but you know that ram is volatile?? reboot and windows is gone. windows OS right?

My friend was telling me that some computer has windows on the ram, and it just keeps it forever. If there is some way to do this, then it would be incredibly fast. How does static ramdisk hold onto information?

well there are programs than handle creating ramdisk and backing up the ram to the hard drive either whenever something is writting...makes the system write slow or only when system idle process, which makes the system slightly volitile

What programs could handle something like this. I really want to know if I can have the system take basically no performance away by having it all on the ram.

Can you rephrase that in english?

I'm just asking if there is a specific program that will do what Jon said, and if it woukd indeed load everything for the system in a snap.

Nope, not unless you have a solid state hard drive, and you're looking at several thousands for that. Sorry chump, you're out of luck.
