It may be innovative, but it still sounded like crap.

Never heard the other two bands, but I can tell you this.

I used to loathe SOAD. I couldn't stand any of their music and I would refer to all of it as "crap" and "false metal" and "numetal".
As of their last CD, my opinion of them has changed much. They play progressive music now.

They are not nearly close to being a favorite of mine, but every once in a while I'll listen to a song or two of theirs on purpse...

There is no way to put this nicely... Your music is total crap, and its fans are stupid adolescents with no taste who aren't going anywhere in life.
You mean I will be working as a Taco Bell parking lot cleaner forever? :(

If you keep listening to SOAD you will!

Then SOAD should get busy shining or he's going to burn out and not be able to.

I don't dig SOAD's political lyrics b/c it's kind of annoying and typical Hollywood crap. However, I buy their albums the day they come out and I can't say that about too many groups. I love their unique style, crushing riffs, and vocal harmoneys.

I went to the same concert about a month ago in philly. SOAD put on a decent show and enjoyed it a lot although I thought they were better the first time I saw them when they were touring with POD(which also doesnt make much sense).

Now, about Mars Volta. I like Mars Volta and have heard their CDs and really dont mind them at all. BUT when i saw them open for SOAD it really spun my head around. They REALLY sucked live. They palyed for what seemed forever. THe music just didnt flow like it did on the CD. It was a wall of sound with no beat, rythm or repeating patter what so ever. It was just a bunch of raket that seemed to go no where. THe guitarist was doing his own thing while the drummers/percusion were just wailing away. It truely sucked.

i love SOAD.

The Mars Volta is ... mmm... it's ok. but i have a clip of them playing live, and it looks pretty stupid. i think they think they're a little too genius and people love to hear their musical expressiveness.

AT THE DRIVE-IN, however, was like the best fvcking band ever. :bows:

Noel Gallagher On System of a Down: "After I heard System of a Down, I thought, I'm actually alive to hear the s***tiest band ever. Of all the bands that have gone before, and all the bands that'll be in the future, I was around when the worst was around."

N.G. is an asshat, but he's right about SOAD. Good lord they suck.

thats a bit harsh. Thats like a thing i read in the paper this summer about how coldplay is a terrible band. Its all personal opinion, maybe that is the worst band in the history of music to him..but honestly.there are much much much worse....

For example...

hanson?
Eddie Murphy(Party all the time?)
