system maintence on xp

Hey guys and girls

Has been a while. I have 3 year old system that I run xp and use norton internet security and M. security essentials. Is there a good software out there that I can run to do weekly maintainence on my system.

If you leave it on for a day, it should update itself. Using both Norton and MSE is not a good idea. I would dump Norton snd use MSE along with free Malwarebytes.

I would dump BOTH Norton and MSE and install Avast. Norton is a huge resource hog on XP and I've seen MSE get owned many times. Two AV programs should NEVER be used at the same time!

I also recommend you install ccleaner and stop any unneeded start up programs from running. Excessive temp file build-up and too many startup programs are the biggest problems I run into with old XP systems.

I don't see why you would need weekly maintenance on your computer.
I would remove that Norton Virus you have on your computer to speed everything up.
