I just finished setting up a friend's system, and while setting up the software, the system would hang. When I would hit the reset button the system would not post. It would, however, post after switching the power supply switch off and then on and then booting. Underclocking the CPU appeared to alleviate the problem(or atleast i think so).
The processor was not overclocked. The monitor would go black(not power-saving mode) for a second upon freezing(basically no signal to the monitor). The sound would loop about a second's worth.
System: Abit KT7 RAID, thunderbird 900(supplied heatsink/fan combo), 300watt power supply, 128mb pc100, radeon 32mb ddr, sblive platinum 5.1, maxtor dm40 40gb, toshiba 12x dvd, plextor 12/10/32x cd, 3.5" floppy.
