System freezing up

I recently got a new motherboard/processor combo. The motherboard is an M810LR using SiS 730S chipset. The processor is a Duron 1Ghz. I have 768MB PC133 RAM. I am presently using the onboard video but am installing a TNT2 video card when it arrives in the next few days. I have installed 2 different operating systems on this thing but it still freezes up ALL the time. There are no error messages, nothing in the event viewer and I can find nothing abnormal. I have disabled the onboard sound, MIDI, USB, Game port, replaced the RAM and re-loaded my OS, all which have had no affect. I was thinking that the problem could be my processor but I ran benchmarks on it and it appears to be functioning normally. It runs between 85 and 105 degrees. It also seems to be worse when I first start it in the morning as I have to hit the reset button a few times to get it to even boot up. Does anyone have any suggestions on where else I can look? did you format the hard drive before reloading the os? Normally when you add a new motherboard, doing a complete format is the easiest and cleanest way to get everything going. also who makes your motherboard? have you tried installing the latest chipset drivers?

Thanks for the reply. I started with a new HD that I formatted and installed Win2K (NTFS), then re-roematted with FAT32 for Windows ME. I seem to have been able to make it a bit more stable by disableing everything I am not currently using, but it still locks up fairly frequently. The board maker is PC Chips (yea I know, it's a cheapy). I am really leaning towards the onboard AGP video but won't know for sure till I install a vid. card. Any other ideas where to look for the trouble? Thanks!
