System fans keep running on sleep mode

On most whitebox PC BIOS's I've used, standby defaults to S1, which keeps your system (mostly) on. If you switch it to S3, it should power off the cooling system when going into standby.

yea thats not sleep of any worth at all. s1 is harddrives off and not much else. power drop is almoost nothing. if thats the only thing your pc will do, go into hibernate instead. i've never seen a pc fail that mode. hibernate is effectively off. all sorts of devices can keep desktops esp self builds from going into s3 mode. only laptops seem to effortlessly do this mode without fail. self built desktops can be hit and miss.

Apparently I didn't notice the STR state.

Everything works fine now. - spoke too soon.

To anyone who is reading this. Be careful with that MCE standby tool. It disabled something in my bios where i couldn't boot into the bios. I had to pull the bios battery and it reset my entire bios profile - re-entering stuff now.

EDIT: this app hosed my pc - I recommend to NOT use it.

It seems likely from this app. I'm not sure what it changed in my power management. I loose my video signal with a screen of grey and black vertical lines with the audio going in and out. I've pulled the bios (reset) and the same thing happens. I'm doing a memory diagnostic run to rule out the ram. After that, I'm going to re-install the 9.12 5870 drivers as it more than likely looks like it's driver problems. If it's not, I'm going to have to do a full re-install to be sure it isn't the new hardware; before the 30 day return policy is up.
