System Error scan in XP?

Does XP have this feature?

I cannot find it. I remember Win9X had this feature, along with defragmenting the system. I could check all hard drive for errors and they would be corrected.

How can i do this is XP?

I want to defragment, and it has some bad files. I want to repair those. Everytime I bootup it cant scan correctly and i have to bupass the HDD scans manually.

How can i perform a system "bad file" scan/repair in Win XP?

thx
