system crashes while switching windows..

this isn't a problem i'm having but my friend is ...


he is running xp but for some reason everytime he signs onto the internet and opens a site and tries to switch windows (like clicking on the desktop) the computer freezes.....this just recently started to happen is what he has told me. Is there a way to go back in xp? or any ideas?
