System Crashes or Unstable: Call for help.

Hi folks,
I assembled my pc:

Intel E6600

Asus P5B

ATi X1900XT

2 x Corsair 1GB DDR2-6400 128Mx64 non-ECC 240 DIMM unbuffered 5-5-5-12 Heat

Coolermaster eXtreme Power 650W PSU

Western Digital WD2500KS SATA2/300 16MB


However, in two days the system, had problem while running Adobe Illustrator CS2.

I was wondering if the memory could be the problem. The PCProbe software that comes with the MOBO did not revealed anything wroneg. Is there any way I can understand what is it wrong, cause I cannot believe that with only one software running, the sytem crashes.
Just to be clear, it did froze and eventually came back and luckily did not went off. It is impossible for a new system, to stop working like that, with the risk of loosing valuable work.

What can I do?

First, check the memory with Memtest86. If that comes back okay, check in the TasK Manager to see how much memory the program is taking, and how much, if any, is left. It doesn't matter how good your hardware is, there is a software program that is able to overcome it. If the problem only occurs with the one program, contact the manufacturer to see if they have any ideas or solutions.
 
thanks a lot...just a little problem i do not have a floppy drive..any other solution? that doesn't involve floppy disks?

Not sure if I understand that statement correctly, but not entirely impossible for a system to stop working like that.

Seekermeister has the right direction as to how to fix the problem. Check for any patches for Adobe CS2 as well as all hardware requirements. Hardware never overcomes software if the software is faulty. I have 2 users at work running on Core 2 Duo's with CS2 and they don't have any problems(although they are Optiplex PC's purchased from Dell). Could very well be a memory problem, won't know until you test it. There are other utilities that will stress test your PC as well, so give those a shot. Have you tried reinstalling the software?

Where's the comment about the floppy disk??
 
sorry i was just being sarcastic, i know its possible cause it does happen to me. I tried to install Memtest86 but i was wondering if there is a different test cause at present i do not have any disk.

However I did run the test on the memory and it di came out with no error? What can I do next? I guess reinstalling the software first...I'll do that tomorrow.

i did the test, on memory and the score was pass no error. I uninstalled Illustrator, and Zone Alarm. Now I cannot reinstall zone alarm, cause just this software will be stuck? What else can I do?
 
I'm not sure why you uninstalled Zone Alarm in the first place, but that is a separate issue. Did you check in the task manager to see how much memory the program is taking? Have you checked in the Event Viewer to see if there is anything there regarding it? Have you checked at the Adobe website to see if there is any FAQs, patches or data about the problem?
