bump:
also, I am wanting the best performance(after overclocking) for the money, ie, is it worth it to spend 60$ extra for a 3200+

I'd go with the cheaper cpu, better mobo *OC's better*, Different ram if possible as none of that OC's that well. I like all the vid card choices but would choose the BFG model.

does it overclock better enough to warrant getting the more expensive mobo and less expensive cpu over the other combination?

Probably; the difference between the two isn't that big.

I've personally had some bad experiences with WD (had one of their drives fail on me in 5 months...), so I would definitely say go Seagate and/or Maxtor.

My Maxtor drive is running smooth and strong after two years of abuse.

RAM: none of those you need ocz el plat. or ocz el gold.

video card : 6800gt? oc to ultra speeds later. the 6600gt is good but you would be running low res like 800x600 in good graphics games like doom 3, to get good fps.

edit get a gig too.
