So I'm building a system for the first time, and while I know pretty much everything I need, I'm wondering what I need to set up a RAID 0 array in my new system. I'm planning on RAIDing 2 160 GB Seagate drives (frankly I don't think the Raptors are worth the money). What else do I need besides the drives (and obviously a mobo that supports RAID)?

Why do you need RAID 0? You're not running a server, the only situation where striping produces enough tangible benefit to justify putting all your data at a hugely increased risk of loss.

AS you can see by my post count, I am a noob to the extreme. Humor me, though.

You need either a mobo that supports raid or a pci raid card. As far as benefits go, (although i have no benchmarks and such to back this up) I find that for activities involving large files (video, large image files, databases), a raid0 array will give a noticeable performance boost.
