System Build Help

I know these are quire common posts. however, most of the replies I have seen are for overclocking purposes. Money is somewhat tight and I do have to stay within a reasonable budget (new baby).

My budget is around $600 total for what I need. My criteria for a new system is quiet, stable. Two of the bigger components I already have. This cuts down on the cost drastically.


Here is what I have and what I need:

Have:
1. GeForce FX3500 video adapter
2. 2x2GB PC5300 memory
3. Seagate 320GB SATA 7200.10

Need:
1. Processor - looking at Intel Core 2 Duo Conroe E6300 for $180
2. Motherboard - no clue. All recommendations are for o/c'ing. I want a stable mobo for no o/c'ing
3. PSU - Looking at Seasonic S12 - 500W. Any other recommendations?
4. New case - any recomemndation on a quiet case
5. Heatsink and fans - I just ordered a new 120MM silent case fan, but decided to upgrade the whole system.

I will recomend two things. A tower and a cpu cooler.
I recomend Thermaltake S-Viking tower. And also recomend Thermaltake SilentTower 112 Copper cooler.
I have this kind of hardware and am very pleased. The tower has two 120mm fans for the back and for the hard discs. They are very silent and
do extreme cooling.

About the other components just wait for the other guys. They know more...

Thanks for the info on a case and HSF. I have been trying to go through all of the info on mobos that I am getting a headache. I think I am set on the C2D E6300 at $180. I need to find a mobo for this that is stable, has some oc'ing capability, and is not outrageously expensive like some others. I am reusing what I have available to keep cost down and a budy I work with has a spare FX3500 video adapter. I am not sure how good it is, but it will tide me over until I get enough to get something better if it is not that good.

Definitly not the PSU for a budget system. If you sticking with a very low end videocard then look at one of these:

It is the video adapter I have available now for free. Eventually I will upgrade it to something more mainstream. Since I have to uild from the ground up, I have to use some things that I have available now.

I am not sure how good or bad an NVidia Quadro FX 3500 adapter is. I will have to look into it. If it can handle everyday work, video editing, and some games, then it is good enough for a few months.
