I just wanted to take a second to thank everyone for their help. I am going with the following:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+
Chaintech MB
2 of these RAM
6600GT
HDD

And I am going to use my current Antec ATX case and a buddy's Antec 400w ps. Also I will port over my CDD and FDD.

I have a 66/100 round cable for the CDD and a round cable for the FDD. Will I need a SATA cable for the HDD?

Anything else you can recommend?

Again, thanks all. You will definately hear how it all went. *crosses fingers*

I have only dealt with Intel in the past. Yep, the benchmarks above prove that AMD are better performing chips, but I am looking for simplicity. How simple is AMD to use? The Intel system I built from scratch and did a winxppro install in less than 2 hours... what headaches am I going to get from AMD?

I sold my 3.6gHz Intel in favor of the 3500+ AMD that I have now. check my bench marks below to see what a lil 3500 can do.

Changed my mind on that Maxtor drive, going with the Seagate mentioned in the above post instead. Thanks again. 9.3 compared to 8.5 is significant I suppose.

You guys are awesome!

Yes, sorry, I'm replying so fast I'm not reading. Should be a great system.

If you can spend a little more, get an 8MB cache instead of 2MB on that HD. Don't sweat it though.

Awesome - I can't thank you enough for your help today. I am placing the order tonight, so expect raving reviews in the very near future!!
