System boot failure after upgrading pc...

I upgraded my pc from Intel DH61WW mobo & Core i3 2100 cpu to Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0 mobo and AMD FX6300 cpu... I also upgraded my gpu from a geforce GTS450 2GB DDR3 to MSI GTX660 2GB DDR5... Now while i boot my system, it loads till 'START WINDOWS NORMALLY' & 'LAUNCH STARTUP REPAIR' options... When i select 'START WINDOWS' option, then the Windows logo appears, then a BLUE screen comes and again system restarts... Also no use with the 'STARTUP REPAIR' option... Is it an OS Failure ?? Will it be solved if i Reinstall the OS ?? I was currently running a Win 7 Ultimate 32bit... Thank u...

If you didn't revert your Controller to the default Standard AHCI 1.0 Serial ATA Controller, you may run into issues using the same OS on a different platform. At this point I would grab anything you need off the drive and do a fresh install.

the blue screen just displays in a fraction of a second and then system restarts... so cant find whats written... botts upto 'START WINDOWS NORMALLY' option, when its selected then Windows logo also appears, after that process the above mentioned restart occurs... I hope it would be an OS problm.

Check F2F's suggestion as well.Can you boot into safe mode?

I didnt try Safe mode... First of all i'm gonna reinstall my OS and check...

Whatever you set previously for the OS install needs to be set again, be it IDE, RAID, or AHCI...

That's the only hope to retain the OS without a reinstall, even then it's hit or miss.

I'd take the opportunity if you only have one drive to format a 30GB partition on it for the OS, leave the rest of your drive for programs/downloads whatever else you have.

That way in the future if you need to reinstall your OS for any reason all your programs and downloads are right there, often all you'll need to do is simply reinstall them over the old ones.

I do this all the time with my SSD. Works flawlessly with programs like Steam which only requires I reinstall steam itself and the prerequisites for each game I play.

You can change a setting in the BIOS to not automatically restart after you blue screen so that you can actually read it. Just a heads up

You have moved from intel chipset platform to AMD...and expect the O/S to boot normally?....
In order to do that you have to generalise the drivers in device manager BEFORE changing the platform....
Clean install in now required..

Win 7 will normally boot ok then install the required drivers even after a switch of mobo and cpu from AMD to Intel. I did that 3 days ago, it booted with no problems, however I have had cases where this blue screen occured and if it's doing that then a fresh install or at least a boot in safe mode should be attempted first.

If you still have access to your old mobo/cpu, just bench-connect it (no need to mount everything to the case) and when you get windows up, run sysprep as described here :

That will easily prepare your installation to move to vastly different hardware. You will have to reactivate your windows license either way with that much of a difference in hardware.

Ah, now that I actually think about it, when you do get your pc up and running with sysprep as I described, immediately go to download the 64-bit SP1 ISO of your OS from digitalriver using the official Microsoft servers :

Running a 2GB video card on a 32-Bit OS will just hamstring your performance severely.

Something is faulty Try one stick of RAM ,,,,,,, test those out with memtest.
