Anybody know what synth was used in Darude's Sandstorm for the main beat? You know, the scratchy, kind of klaxon-like one? My audiophile friend told me at one point, but now I forget.

They probably made their own.
 
I asked him today. He says it's probably a 303 with lower envelope modulation from what he can tell, but I've played with a 303 emulator and can't get anything near that sound out of it.
