what exactly do you mean by the service menu? I dont remember ever seeing that option.

exactly :)

there is some key combo that you press where it gives you a special menu to adjust your tv, check for dead pixels, and display other info

i want it for the pixel test and the other info. maybe later on i'll do the tv adjustments

well i know there's a combo where you have to hold the channel up button or something. wish i kept that thread :(

might check fatwallet about it. they had a big thread on that lcd back around christmas/BF time frame.

already searched avs, but nobody would say how to do it. i HATE when ppl try to baby others. just give the god damn instructions and the disclaimers, don't withold the information

i was actually part of the latest deal on fatwallet kk, but i think the modsdeleted the thread for some reason

nah, i was searchin in the hot deals thread thinking it would be there. it was moved to deal discussion

but what u have to do is hold channel up on the tv itself, and then press input. i'm about to try it right now

Yeah actually it is Channel up and "Source" not menu, just tried it now on mine :)

yup, it worked for me too


unfortunately, it said the power on time was 41:15, and the backlight time was 18:50

i just got this tv yesterday :|:| it wasn't on for more than 8 hours

Ahh from Directron? I was reading that thread on FW. Kind of shady. I got mine from Microcenter and have no complaints. If it seems to work fine though, probably not worth the hassle of trying to replace it via Syntax (though I read they were willing to do that for people).

Maybe they just ran it for a few hours at the factory to make sure it didn't die right away.

yea but me being a dolt, and syntax being a dolt for not elaborating the service menu, i pressed right on the power on timer, and it cleared the back light timer

after turning off the tv, and turning it back on, the power on timer was back, but not he backlight

I think you will void your warranty if you mess something up with the menu ;) It's like messing with the odometer.
