I have a desktop and a laptop. I already have them networked, but I want to be able to Synchronize just a shared folder where the newest files overwrite the older ones. I'm not sure if Windows XP(on both computers) has such a feature built in, but does anyone know of a third party software that does this??

Also I don't like how XP won't let you just set a password for a shared file. It will only let you dicide which users and/or groups can access the shared folders. Is there a way to just enable sharing with a password access instead of setting up all these profiles?

Thanks in advance.

Nope.

Office will allow you to password protect an individual document, but it's not very strong protection. (Numerous programs available to break/get around the password).

Could someone please list maybe a few programs that will allow me to make sharing password accessible.

Thanks
