SyncMaster 700NF Question

What does the usb cable do on the back of the SyncMaster? I can't seem to find in the directions exactly what it's for. Anyon have any ideas?

My LG monitor has 4 USB ports on it plus one downstream USB cable that connects to the PC so you can connect USB devices to your monitor like mouse, keyboard etc, Samsung and other brands have the same thing more or less,it`s good for extra USB ports 🙂.

If you look on the PDF file here (page 2) you will see the optional USB hub on the back of the monitor,I think you mean that.
It does say in the specs ,optional self powered 1D4U ports( one down and 4 up) so the one down connects to the PC(USB downstream lead),the other 4 are on the hub,see the pic so you can connect 4 USB devices to them.

well, on my short lived 900NF, the usb port (came w/ a cable) had nothing to do w/ the optional usb hub.. it was for color matching control or something. Don't remember exactly, but it seemed useless, not sure if the 700nf had the same or not.
