Does anybody know the responce time to this LCD? And also any information on the Contrast ratio? Samsung's website is very uninformative, b/c they said it had a contrast ratio of 350:1, but on the stick on my LCD it says 400:1. I can't even find the responce time on the website, however I found 16ms on some other website, but I don't know if that is true or not? I bought this LCD a while ago mainly because of the contrast ratio, but now I don't know which to believe in, 350:1 or 400:1?

Trust Samsung. It has a 350:1 contrast and a 25ms response time. Source. Samsung does not have a 16ms LCD.

That sucks, I only have a 25ms responce time. O well. Is there anything I can do to return my LCD to Samsung b/c they basically ripped me off on the contrast ratio part. Now that it is 350:1 that is pretty low for a 17inch LCD, even for the time period and price I bought it at. I think i'm going to complain to Samsung even though I like their company a lot.

Were you happy with it when you thought it had a 16ms response time? 25ms is average for a LCD (actually low) and only the newest panels have 16ms response time. As for the contrast it is usually higher than it is rated and unless you were sitting around complaining about the contrast before you saw something that said 400:1 I don't see the problem.

Well the responce time part won't bother me too much because I alwasy thought it had some 20's responce time. I didn't complain about the contrast ratio part until I saw the 350:1 just a few weeks ago. But that really bothers me how my contrast ratio is lowered. I took my cd that came with the LCD and looked at the specs from the cd and it doesn't even list the contrast ratio or responce time. I guess Samsung was extremely reluctant to post anything about Contrast ratios in the manual or on the box I bought. They only stuck it on the sticker. At the time I bought it I remember it was 400:1 contrast ratio. I just feel angry that I was sold a worse product, it is like the opposite of buying what you pay for. (Paying more for something less.) I mean a company can't sell you a product that was rated at # settings but then later reveal the real specs, sorta like haha you paid me more for something less.

But if you were happy with it before you knew the 'real' specs, why should this be a concern now? The specs are just numbers, your eyes are the true judge of quality of a display.
