Syncing Google Contacts <-> Address Book

I've got gmail to sync with address book. Open Address Book, in the Menu bar, open Address Book, then Preferences. In the General Tab, place a check in the last option "Synchronize with Google". Finish up the Google configuration and you should be set.

I had to use a few "hacks" to get the Google sync option to show up (workarounds are detailed in the first link). But even after I got the option to show and entered my details etc... it doesn't sync. Nothing happens 🙁

I don't think it syncs from Google Contacts to Address book. What you have to do first is export your contacts from google and import them into Address book and from there you can sync it.

I've noticed with Snow Leopard Google Contacts <-> Address Book syncing is now working with no hacks!
