Synch or replicate Exchange Calendars

I wasn't sure if this belonged in networking or elsewhere but I figured there were more than a few exchange admins here.

Is there a way to automatically synch or copy over one user's calendar to another user?

Basically you got the assistant who's got all the important stuff on her calendar. In the office people just look at her calendar. But when the boss is on the road, he logs into his OWA and can't see her calendar, but would like to. What's on his calendar isn't important - having a duplicate of the assistant's instead is fine.

Right now I have them do a poor man's synch - the assistant synchs his palm with her calendar, then he synchs the palm to his. Not up to date always or available when the palm is on the road though.

I don't believe it is possible to view another user's mailbox through OWA. How is the boss connecting to your network? If he has his own laptop, you could configure RPC-over-HTTP(S) and have him use his Outlook client to connect. RPC over HTTP(S) uses the same ports as OWA, so connecting shouldn't be a problem.

Otherwise, a Citrix solution would work, although those can be pricey.

He is connecting using a laptop, OWA is published on port 443. I just have him go to https:// Hmmm, I will look into the outlook over http. I could have him VPN too but I don't know that he'd remember that he has to hit that connect button...

Use Outlook 2003 with RPC over HTTPS. It takes five minutes with to enable with SBS 2003 and takes a couple of hours to implement with Standard Exchange 2003. (This is assuming that you are using Exchange 2003). Then you can use the standard Exchange/Outlook delegation of rights to use other's calendars.

Once you've used Outlook 2003 via RPC, you'll never want to use OWA unless absolutely necessary.

we use a program by diditbetter called add2exchange

this service sits on a workstation and at any time interval of your choosing can synchronize 2 calendars.
