My Mac address book is cluttered with a bunch of contacts I don't want. My iPhone contact list is perfect.

How can I copy my iPhone contacts to my Mac, but not merge the two (ie: I don't want the Mac contacts to get onto their iPhone - if there are any discrepancies, they would be deleted)

Well, you could try backing up your contacts on your Mac first, and then simply deleting the address book file.

Or, try it on a smaller scale. Let's say you have a person's information that is spread across 3 contacts in Address Book, but is only 1 contact on the iPhone. Delete those 3 entries in Address Book, and then sync your iPhone... see what happens.

Realized that because I was using Google Sync, I could no longer sync contacts from my iPhone to Address Book, nor the other way a
round. Really, once you start using Google Sync (which is in beta), the address book is completely left out of the picture... almost like it was overlooked.

I ended up doing the following and I'm pleased so far:
Use Google Sync to Sync contacts between iPhone and Gmail
Use Google Sync to Sync calendars between iPhone and Google Calendars
Use Calaboration to Sync calendars between iCal and Google Calendars
Use Address Book's built in "Sync with Google" feature, plus used some command in terminal to enable automated syncing and give an option to 'Sync Now' up on top menu bar.

Everything seems pretty good so far. The calendars work perfect - if I add or delete any entry on any of the three mediums, the others are updated in seconds. Contacts work OK so far... It is super annoying that Gmail auto-adds any address you have sent or received from.

Thanks for the help!
