Synaptics Chiralmotion Scrolling not working after upgrading to Windows 10

I upgraded my PC from Windows 7 to Windows 10 today and immediately noticed that I lost the Chiralmotion scrolling feature of the Synaptics touchpad was no longer working. The option is checked in the device software but when I test it out in the practice area, it doesn't work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers numerous times. Any help?

Open Registry Editor (Windows + R, type regedit and hit Enter)
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTPEnh
Create a new DWORD called UseScrollCursor with a value of 0.
Logoff or Restart

Just tried the regedit method (even though it really addresses two finger scrolling, I was still hopeful) to no avail...

Driver works, but for some reason it keeps reverting to default to me even when I have a saved profile. Default disables scrolling and puts multitouch on.

Was able to fix my issue by disabling auto updates. Hardware > Device Installation Settings > No, let me choose what to do > Never install driver software from Windows Update

Weird thing is that even after I uninstalled the driver the driver remained but the settings actually held. Wonder if Windows is reinstalling the driver after ever start up and defaulting the settings.

There are many ways to resolve your problem in the links I posted. Several people un-installed the software & reverted to an older version and fixed the issue.

Tried that too. When I try to install an older version (v 17) of the Synaptics drivers, the install simply fails.

This has been posted in other threads as well. Microsoft needs to be more cautious with releasing driver updates if they are going to make it more difficult for the user to choose not to accept them.

If you want to scroll without repetitive finger lifting as in chiral scrolling you can use the app: ErgonomicScrollApplication.
You also get a similar functionality with an ordinary computer mouse.
