sympathy please

my computer blew up today, actually i think (i hope) it was just the power supply, i am very depressed and i am using my laptop now, which is sufficient, but isn't what i am used to, so any condolenses would be greatly appreciated

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I was cleaning out my case and rearranging things. When I put it back together it wouldn't even make a peep. Luckily it was only a power supply so I was only down for a short period of time. I feel your pain. Just be glad you have a laptop to fall back on.

I would weep if my computer went down. Once I had to RMA my 15GB Maxtor because it was malfunctioning. I got most but not all of the data off of it and used a smaller hard drive while I was waiting for the replacement to arrive. It really would have been disastrous if I had lost all of my data. Since this happened I've gotten a tape drive and now back up religiously.

Good luck to you. Hope you get everything working again soon.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully it's just the PSU.

I recently lost a mobo to a screw driver. The screw driver rolled off my table and put a gash through some of the printed circuits on my Asus A7V board. Started it up and only got beeps. That royally sucked. Had to fork out another 125 for a new one.

since i can't get my specs to show up, here is what they are so you understand my pain a little more

Asus P4T Motherboard
P4 1.7 Ghz Processor
512 Mb of PC800
ATI All-in-wonder Radeon'
sound blaster live 5.1 platinum
Two burners a 16x and 8x
DVD drive
and the list can go on of little things i have here and there, but it is very depressing
