The price advertized is with shipping.

If item doesn't show search for Sylvania 7" Netbook Wireless Mobile Internet Device.

At the time of this writing, it's available in red and black.

It is a complete piece of garbage, with 128mb ram, and Windows CE, but there are many mods out there for it, people were able to successfully install Bento Linux and Android. Sega Genesis emulators, SNES, some basic videos, e-mail, word processing, internet, possibly even netflix and you-tube but doubtful....
I bought one.. figured it would be fun to fiddle with.

from what i gather, it is a 300mhz processor with 128mb of ram. however bad you could possibly imagine web browsing, its a lot worse then that.

Looks the same as this unit from Walmart:

just in a different color. Great price - I just can't see this being very useful, the tablets really wiped out this market. I'm assuming you can't just copy over and run normal Windows program on Windows CE. I wonder if Windows XP will run on this?

I looked around, there are other models clocked at 1 GHz with 256 Mb ram. This sounds awfully crippled, IMO.

I've used one of these. Of course the person who bought it was misled into thinking it was a regular netbook. It has Windows CE and that's more of a downside than the hardware. It wasn't too awfully slow but just browsing the web with an outdated stripped down IE in CE is just torture. She brought it to me because her kids wanted to browse the web and play games online and thought the netbook was damaged because it kept crashing. It's basically worthless with CE.

I dont think you can read anything from processor speed. I have a via Nemiah 700 mhz that surfs the web almost like a pc. It is one hell of a lot faster than any crap smartphone browser I've ever used.

But I have also used the browser on a PS3 and it was atrocious. And that thing is supposed to be a lot faster than 700MHz right?

I wonder how this compares to the browser on a nintendo dsi...

VIA 8505 is an Arm processor. Go with Android or an appropriate Linux distro.

Don't even bother with this machine. I've got one. Bought it from the same people but, on EBay - FYI, JustDeals should be called JustScams. It's complete crap. It only arrived today and I'm already looking for another OS to put on it.

Judging from you-tube videos, this device is just fine when android is installed. Don't expect ICS, but version 1.5 runs well, with sound and everything, allows you to use Android Market, use opera mini, etc, etc.

I will make an extensive review and post it here and on you-tube after I get this in mail and install Android.

If this will run Game Boy Advance, SEGA and SNES games in an Android emulator at full speed, it will be worth every penny I spent on it, because in many cases that keyboard will make the gaming experience much better as opposed to mid-range smartphones and handheld consoles. If not... Heh.. There's always eBay ; )

I highly recommend staying away from both the 7" and 10". When I was looking into a cheap 10" tablet for reading books I thought I try the Sylvania 10" and to say it was bad is the nicest thing I can say.

Do yourself a favor and don't try it! Take my pains and failures to try to make this product remotely usable in the sense of just getting swipe to work ok, not smooth, just ok. If anything these are rebadge pandigitals tablets. Again, the tablet is so slow it becomes almost unusable.
