I never realized that before🙂

to the man who inspired songs such as "Wish You Were Here" & "Coming Back to Life"

Commercial success definitely increased after he left (though he was the driving force behind getting them to the big stage in the first place). But I would say that the originality and creativity of the Piper at the Gates of Dawn/Saucerful of Secrets era was well beyond anything the band did later. My favorite PF tunes are all from those 2 albums.

Of course later on, Barrett really did lose it, and if you listen to his solo stuff, there are flashes of brilliance, but it is too far gone to be consistently good.

Truth be told, i didnt really like the Wall musically. But the storyline behind it and the emotion waters put into it is something to admire. when I hear "When the tigers broke free" it almost brings a tear to my eye everytime.

That one's not even on the CD, is it? Can't remember if it's on the vinyl.

Tigers isnt and wasnt on The Wall...its from The Final Cut 😉 Last album with Waters...until the 2005 reunion for 4 songs of course.
