SY-P4X400 DRAGON Ultra Platinum Edition and Pentium 2.26ghz problem

I was given this combo from a friend. I get no video signal from the board what so ever, and no error beep codes. Here is a list of events that can go on.

Everything listed is known to be good, besides the CPU and Motherboard
-300w Antec PS with P4 connector
-PC2700 Samsung Ram
-AGP video or PCI video

I also get no signal to my keyboard (at least to the Number lock light)

When I take the memory out of the system I get one long beep that does not stop until powered off. When the memory is installed I get no errors. The video card heatsink will get warm, and the CPU heatsink also gets warm when running for a couple of minutes. The CPU fan plugged into the CPU1 connector. All fans on the board power up and spin, including the northbridge and video card fan.

Any guesses wheter it would be the CPU or Mobo? Maybe both? Tommorow I may try to get a hold of a Celeron to test out.

Thanks in advance!

I also have a p4x400 though its from ECS and had a few issues with the video as well

Here is my orginal post

I just purchased the eca l4vxa2 with a p4 2.66. I am in the process of waiting for my new video card and I am building my system with a tnt2 ultra in the interim. After hooking the board up in the case, I put in the video card and don't get any video. The card is a tnt2 ultra agp viper 770. NO VIDEO on the monitor!

Here is the kicker, I plug in a crappy pci video card, I don't even know what it is and BLAMO, there is the video. I have verified that agp 2x is selected in the bios and lower (and higher). NO LOVE!

It looks like the p4x400 is picky about agp slots, I could not get the tnt2 to work AT ALL. I had a ti4200 in the mail (8420s) and it worked fine. The only difference I see between your issue and mine is yours doesn't beep. BUT when i had both the PCI and AGP cards in there, it didn't beep.

The key factor is the agp card needs to be version 2. Meaning, it has to be 1.5v not the older 2.5v (I think 2.5 is correct for the older version).

Go to circuit city and buy a newer agp card and see if it works and if it doesn't you can just take it back.

Good luck!
