Um, they're just saying that that is a decent setup to use with the board. Adding in more is only better, they just don't expect everyone to be able to put in that much.

I had that board with three 512 meg sticks in it. It performed well. It now has a new home in a friends computer after the C130 cap mod and is running an athlon 2400+.

How did you get it to run an XP 2400+ CPU? The tech spec website on the board says it runs a 2100+ CPU at MAX.

My guess would be a BIOS update, and whatever the case, what is the max CPU it can take?

How did you get your board to run with 3 sticks of 512? I just posted a question about the Dragon Plus and memory. I can't get my system to run stable with more than 768 mb.

I was using NANYA PC2100 3X512 with the latest beta bios (unpublished on their website) and set the clock multiplier manually to run the athlon 2400+ If anyone is interested in the mod or the bios PM me and I'll try to find it again. Like I said I no longer own the mobo. Upgraded to a 2600+ and had to get a new mobo.:D

The night I was going to order my 2 extra sticks of RAM I killed my MB. I broke a trasistor w/o knowing (when I installed a DVD-RW). It worked fine for a while, but never booted again once I updated my BIOS.

I sent for and currently putting together (as of this post) a P4P800 MB and P4 2.4c CPU system.
