is there a noticeable difference between these two displays ? refresh rates maybe ? image crispness ?
is worth adding 100 dollars onto a laptop's price ??

Yes I noticed a difference and that's why I got mine with a UXGA. Only 100.00 and at 2 grand what's the difference anyway.

Get the UXGA. Not only is it a crisper image, but it drops to lower resolutions better since it has more pixels.

My Dell came with the IBM screen. It is the normal UXGA. They also now sell a Enhanced UXGA with higher contrast and color depth.

suggest you try actually viewing screens with both resolutions as some folk complain bitterly at how small things are on the uxga screen!

I can't even stand how small things are on my SXGA+ screen. I'm currently running it at 800x600. I don't think UXGA would look much better but I've never seen one. I did notice that according to the specs the response time on the UXGA is faster. I don't know if that would make much difference or not.

I'm very happy with my SXGA+ screen. I'm really happy I didn't get the UXGA with my Inspiron 8200 as a lot of people are having problems with the UXGA screen that don't occur with the SXGA+.
