Seems weird, it cost to place a bid and the bid increases the time? I only looked at it for a minute, seems different.

It's a cool concept. It's kind of like gambling. On my quick glimpse, it looks like you bid, it bumps the time, and you hope no one else places a bid. I'm going to look into it some more. I wonder if you get good prices?

I'm doing some reading on the site also. The one thing that seems weird is the idea that you buy bids with real money. So does that mean you could spend money on the item and not even win?

That's how it looks to me. I think you'd have to watch the site awhile to see if you'd generally make out on the deals. The entertainment aspect is just as important as the sales. You're paying to play, and the deals are a significant byproduct, kind of like roulette :^D

So this is a Swooporepost?

Edit: This site caught my eye. Probably because of the quality items going for cheap. BUT a quick googler search brought up several things:

Wiki article

Swoopo is an online auction website[1] where all bidders have to pay for credits that they use to bid on items on the website, even if they do not end up winning the auction.

Several complaints of a scam

First hit is an interesting read.

Eighth hit claims to know how to market the system...

This to me is what kills it. Why would I want to put money towards something I might not win. If I wanted to do that I would just go to a casino and gamble.
