I recently stumbled across an auction website, Swoopo, and saw prices that were stupid low on some consumer electronics. However, I didn't see anything indicating that the products being sold would work, what condition they were in,
etc.
Anyone know anything about this place? Is it legitimate? Is it even somewhat safe to give them a credit card number?
 
Swoopo is essentially a gambling/raffle for consumer electronics. Their system is cleverly disguised as a ebay style auction site so they can claim they aren't an internet gambling site and what they are doing isn't illegal. You might get lucky once or twice on an item but will lose money in the long run. I don't give it long until they are investigated by the FTC/government.
