ok im coming from onboard intel graphics on windows XP. i got a gf4 today and decided to test it out.

i uninstall the intel drivers in the add/remove programs and it switches the driver from the intel one to the standard vga.

now i proceed to install detonators, before I put the gf4 in.

once its done i shut down and install the card, and reboot. xp wants to use a microsoft driver for it, and i run the detonator setup again.

then i reboot again and it seems like its normal, except when i fire up a game, it either freezes or runs at 1fps, and 3dmark2k1se doesnt want to install, because it couldnt find a d3d controller.

help? do i have to reinstall my games? any input?

Did you disable the on-board graphics in the bios ? After you do that (if you didn't), then make sure all of the old drivers are gone. When in doubt, try this (even though it would take more time):

1) De-install everything for BOTH video cards.
2) Shut down the PC
3) remove GF4
4) Boot, and enable onboard graphics.
5) After booting only install the minimum to boot.
6) Before shutdown, deinstall/remove the device from the setup.
7) Shut down
8) Install the GF4
9) When booting, disable the on-board vga BEFORE it FINISHES BOOTING.
10) Install detanator drivers.
