switching out video cards.... uninstall drivers or just swap?

I currently have a dual agp geforce mx4000 video card installed on my p4 system with winxp home ed. I've jsut got a VGA ROSEWILL RADEON RW9600-128D from newegg and I was wondering if I can just swap out the cards and update the drivers off of the new cd or web or do I have to uninstall my old drivers and then install the new card with the drivers. Any help or direction on how to do this would really help. I just want to make this install as easy as possible without any issues or drop in perfomance.

Thanks in advance for your help!

My advice is to begin by uninstalling the old drivers. Then for your display choose "Standard PCI Graphics Adapter (VGA)" and shutdown. Install new card and then new drivers.

ya, jus uninstall old ones before you shut-down either via add and remove programs which is the easiest or go to device manager and uninstall that way. then shut down, swap vid cards boot and install the latest drivers
