Hello Everyone,

I have a very basic question....

I currently have W2K server installed on my PC & would like to switch to XP Pro. How would the process work? Do I have to backup all necessary files, format & then install XP or can I just put the XP CD in the drive & let it roll?

Thanks,
S

PS: I just tried installing XP (without reformatting) & it says that it cannot upgrade from W2K server to XP! :(

you will have to do a fresh format ... windows xp pro will not upgrade from the server os.

I remember once seeing a utility to trick your server OS into thinking it was a client... at which point you could upgrade...
