It REALLY is unfair to say as a general statement that 1 mobo manufacturer is better than another as a blanket statement.
I'll give you a great example. I spend time with a design group of guys that have certain manufactures build mobos . IWILL was one of them and used one of their mobos. Left town for a couple of years to do other 'stuff' and found out that IWILL was supplying obviously reworked (not always obvious to the non-engineer) mobos. They developed a 'so what attitude' so they were dropped. ABIT at one time had such bad product, not bad from the design point but really bad manufacturing, testing and component sourcing. They also had an attitude that theywouldn't even look at a bad mobo, under warranty without a $25.00 fee. I am sure this has changed.
Gigabyte remains one the companies, together with ASUS and now ABIT that offer great innovation, good design and quality products, pretty much consistently.

2 cents from a very old timer.

so the epox? yeah thats what i was thinking...another thing i wanted to ask about is my case. someone reccomended going with an antec 3000blk and fortron source 450W PSU.
did he mean antec slk3000-b? if so, would the 3000-b and fortron source 450W be better than going with the sonata II? theyre both 450W but the 3000-b and fortron is a little cheaper

Well I thought I just read somewhere that Chaintech is leaving the motherboard business so if thats true I wouldn't buy one of their motherboards because it will have less support.
