My p4p800-Deluxe doesnt like my 9700 pro (the revision number is 11, the mobo manual recommends rev. 30) so i ended up getting a 9800 pro. Its sitting on my desk right now hehe. Anyways... what procedure should I use to swap the cards? Which drivers should I uninstall/reinstall? I'm pretty sure I could just swap the two cards, but I want this to be as trouble-free and "clean" as possible.

ok, so i decided to swap the cards normally and then reinstall the drivers. probalem is, I am getting blue screen driver errors very frequently (i havent reinstalled drivres yet). Right now, I booted up in safe mode, and I'm downloading both the intel INF drivers and the ATI catalyst 3.6 drivers. I will uninstall the video card in device manager and then install the drivers. Do you guys think this will work??

To be perfectly honest you shouldn't have done a thing with drivers. I went from a 9000NP to a 9800P and it worked perfectly. If you are having issues then maybe your problem isn't the video card afterall.

*doh!!!* I'm an idiot. I forgot to uninstall the 9700 pro's drivers and control bar from add/remove programs. After doing that and putting in the 9800 pro, things are running much more smoothly. However, I tried to run 3Dmark 03 to see if everything is fine, and it keeps on crashing to the desktop. At first, it was crashing during the beginning of the first test. I turned off fast writes in Smartgart, and then tried again. This time it finished the first test, then crashed when it was supposed to switch to test 2. Again, by crash, I mean it crashed to the desktop.

Am I supposed to reinstall 3dmark? Or is the problem something else? Also... should I reinstall directx 9.0b, or will that transition fine from one video card to the next?

Thanks

well, maybe because myself and hundreds of others have no issues with 9700/9800 in P4P800
