Going for an At&t phone online. It will take 2-3 business days to ship to me.
I currently have a Verizon phone...if I want to port my current phone number, will at&t port the number right away? Meaning, will my VZ phone go numberless if the port completes before the new phone arrives?

It is not a problem. Just tell AT&T when you want the Number Active on their Service.
They will do all the prep work, such as telling VZ Wireless of the upcoming number port.
Then when you get the phone, you call AT&T to complete the port over. It takes about 5
minutes once you get a tech on line. Very easy.
 
Once you activate your new phone, the porting will begin, which should be completed right away. Certain cases, the port may take up to 24 hours. If you find yourself in "port lingo" you must use the new ATT phone to make calls, but will receive calls on your old vzw phone. Being in "port lingo" is a pain in the ass, but very rare.
