Switch + router

Hi.
Im currently connected like this Internet->Router(for wifi)->switch->PC.
The thing is that the router's switch ports are 10/100 and my internet connection is 300. So what i need to know is how to connect like this Internet->switch(10/100/1000)->PC+router(wifi).
Because when i try to connect the second way the IP on my pc and on the router are the same and they conflict with eachother.
Anyway...i tried asking if i can get a second IP, they said that its not possible. So any help would be awesome! Waiting for answers, thx🙂

you cant...this would put your switch and PC before the router on the public internet, plus you only have a single public IP. only the router is capable of things like NAT, DHCP, and routing.

get a new router with gigabit capabilities or be happy with 100Mb internet speeds.

if your internet connection really is 1/3 of a gigabit then wow, and yeah you will want a gig router.

if you actually mean that your wireless N speeds are 300mb, then dont worry about the 100mb ethernet ports because those are still faster then 95% of wireless N connections.
