Wife insists we use our stereo system headphones when we are "gaming". We are constantly reaching around to the back of the case to disconnect headphones and plug back in the Cambridge speakers into the SB Live card. This is a pain...is there a switch available from someone to deal with this situation ? Thanks for any help...

i think you could use a 2:1 headphone splitter and plug them both in and just turn off the speakers when you dont' want to use them?

if you're at all handy with a soldering iron, it's quite easy to make a neat-o switch for headphones/speakers. you basically need a DPDT switch and 3 1/8 inch stereo female jacks all put into a small project box with some thin wire (all available from radio shack for under 20 bucks).

I made 3 of these for myself and 2 friends about 2 years ago, and all are still working today.

if you're interested, i could probably dig up some old plans

else, that splitter idea would work, but it could get annoying having sound coming out of your headphones 24/7 with no option to mute them specifically.

I used a 6' stereo headphone extension cord ($3.29) from a drugstore because I didn't want my Grado headphones running all the time.
