True dat. I had a Microprocessor Design professor in College who was exceptionally brilliant. I used to take the same class twice (by joining the other session) during the week so that I could grasp everything he said. A year or so later during my senior year, I heard he went cuckoo and became ultra religious out of the blue. He referred to Bill Gates as the devil and said that if you add William Gates III in ascii, it turns out to be 777.

Except no one is saying that. "Swine" just refers to the virus' origin before possibly mutating and jumping to infecting humans. It's not even the same individuals viruses that were in the pigs, just altered copies. Now it's transmitted human to human. The only "fault" that Israeli people getting the virus are guilty of is being in contact with other humans. Not a breech of religious law to be infected by another person.

The name "Swine" flu doesn't imply anything against any religious or national group.

Both the Jewish and Muslim religions consider pigs to be unclean and unholy (cloven feet and what not) which is why neither eat pork. To call it the "Swine Flu" would probably suggest that any Jewish or Muslim individual that happens to contract that strain of the flu came into contact with pigs and thus did something dirty/sinful...
