I saw this Mac on display at CompUSA the other day with an aquarium type background, with the fish swimming around in real time. Can I get something like this for my background on my Windows XP machine??
 
the fish your talking about is the same fish screensaver that everone's seen (you can get it at serenescreen.com). OS X 10.2 has a feature called Quartz Extreme that uses OpenGL to render the desktop in hardware on your video card. It also allows you to use the OpenGL fish screensaver as wallpaper.

Yeah 🙂 You can use the same screensaver in windows, but if you want to use it as wallpaper, I beleive the mac is your only option.
 
Looks like the Aquatica Waterworlds is what I'm looking for.

I was wanting a background, not a screensaver.

I was hoping to get the background working on my dual monitors, in which the second monitor goes largely unused. So while I'm surfing the internet, I wanted to look at something pretty on the other monitor.

EDIT: Wait, I saw them mention backgrounds on their website. Is it a wallpaper or screensaver?
 
I'm pretty sure the one you saw on the mac was serenescreen and not aquatica waterworlds. Either way, cant use them as wallpaper in windows.

Why get two monitors just to use one as avirtual aquarium?

Wallpaper by the looks of it.
 
I didn't get the other just to use it as a virtual aquarium. I just have it because my video card supported it, and I had the chance to get another monitor very cheap, so here I sit with dual monitors.

Just trying to find something decent to do with the wallpaper I see most of the time on the second monitor.

ah so thats why dock animations and stuff are so smooth. gah damn windows.
