Swiftech MCP655-B Question

This pump has a separate tachometer wire to plug into the mobo to track pump rpms.

Could this be plugged in place of the CPU Fan so the box won't boot if the pump is not running? And would this also cause the box to shut down if the pump stops?

wait since when did the 655 come with a seperate tach cable?

You sure you not talking about the 355?

I pulled it from the box to double check: black & yellow for power, blue for tach. The model number is MCP655-B,

I purchased 2 of them from Heatsink Factory.

The 655/D5's that have the variable pot still do not have a 3-pin for the tach, at least the last time I checked. It boggles me that they haven't added it yet. It seems like a no brainer in terms of selling point and system safety.
