SWF to MIDI conversion

Hello,

I wanted to know if there's a way I can rip the audio from a SWF file (flash file) to a MIDI file. If anyone knows of a program or series of steps to do it, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanx.

True but if i recall right, Sound Forge does support swa 🙂 well atleast you can open the files and save them in any other *but midi format.

*if you want to convert to midi then resave the swa file as wav for example and then convert from wav to midi.

gonna check it up now, i'll be right back...

I convertered a swa file to wav (could have chosen another format) and then convertered the wav to midi 😀

How i did it?

1. I installed sound forge 6.0
2. I installed wavtomidi2.0
3. i openend the shockwave audio file in soundforge
4. resaved it as wav.
5. i openend the newly created wave file in wavtomidi2.0
6. i resaved it as midi

😀 😉

Woah, thanx a lot!!!

Now I'm gonna ask a really stupid question....cause well...i am.

Is SWF and SWA the same? Like you guys said it will open a SWA file, but does that mean it'll open SWF also?

Thanx in advance.

i just extracted a couple of SWF with SWF Extractor, it works great. so for you the mantra would be.

How i did it.
1. Install SWF Extractor2.2
2. install wavtomidi2.0
3. open the shockwave wave flash file in SWF Extractor2.2
4. extract audio from the swf (MP3 or WAV audio).
5. open the wave file in wavtomidi2.0
6. resave it as midi 😎
