Our home inspector made a statement to us... "out here, either you have termites, or you're going to get termites." This used to be a fricken forest.

We use Terminx, my parents got their 15 year plan where they come out every 6 months and check for new infestations. If they find anything their either treat it locally or retent the entire house depending on the severity. They also repair all the damage.

Probably paranoid but I'd be worried about the pesticides.

And we need to have our house fumigated.

On the plus side, the patio cover I built 10 years ago is termite free...maybe I should have built the entire house.

The brutal cold seems to prevent termites from coming up here. It also works (although to a lesser extent) on the homeless.

Anyway, my BIL lives in California and got termites 6 months after he moved in. Then his house was robbed while it was tented. It does seem like it would be a good time to rob a house.
